Choosing Great Events

An Enchanting Reception

Water, fresh foliage, and the splendor of birds flying off in the distance may remind you of a picturesque escape that you and your partner prefer spending time in. If your love of nature is going to be used as the theme of your wedding reception, bring the outdoors inside by using some decorating tips for the wedding ballroom that is being used for the event.

Use Fountains And Waterfalls As Focal Points

Tabletop fountains will make interesting centerpieces and can be surrounded with an array of colorful rocks, to add a bit of texture and depth to each decoration. For a larger water feature that is going to be used as the backdrop for photoshoots that will be conducted during the reception, choose a floor model fountain or a waterfall wall feature that mimics the appearance of water trickling downward.

Before purchasing or renting any of these decorative items, seek approval for the setup of water features inside of the ballroom. Tabletop water fountains that are battery-operated won't take much work to set up, but a floor or a wall model will require electricity, and you will need to take the location of wall receptacles into consideration so that you can set up the ballroom in the manner that you have planned out.

Dim The Lighting Or Create Separate Areas

The type of lighting that you have at your disposal will be integral in achieving an enchanting theme that will remind you and your guests of spending time in the great outdoors. Chandeliers that possess clear bulbs can be used to highlight the area where food is being served. Intertwine sprigs of greenery along the tables or use potted foliage to contradict the brightness of each bulb.

If dim, recessed lighting encompasses a portion of the ballroom's ceiling, use the muted lighting for separate activities. For example, one area can be set up to resemble an outdoor garden, in which cocktails and socializing will take place. Another portion of the flooring can be used for dancing. If many slow, romantic tunes are going to be played, softer lighting may be preferred over direct light that utilizes high-wattage bulbs.

Dim lighting mixed with faux trees, a flower-covered trellis, or artificial birds that are suspended from wires can mimic a favored area that you and your partner often visit and will make the dance floor appear as if it is surrounded by natural beauty. If the dim lighting doesn't light up each defined area enough, add some light strands to each social setting.
